Welcome To Lutz Dental Ceramics

We are looking forward to meeting you.

Please read this information about your visit with us. If you need any further information, or have any questions, please call us on (02) 6282 9300.

Making An Appointment

You will need to make an appointment, and the easiest way is to pick up the phone and call us! We are open from 8am weekdays and close at 5pm.

Finding Us

We are located in Deakin, on the first floor of The Deakin Sports Therapy Centre, which is located on the corner of Denison Street and King Street. We’re close to John James Hospital, just south of the Royal Australian Mint and north of Alfred Deakin High School.

You’ll find that parking is very convenient: there is a large carpark just in front of the building. It’s paid parking, but shouldn’t cost you more than a dollar.

The best entrance to use is the one to the right of the building, which is slightly uphill towards Denison Street. This entrance is wheelchair and pram accessible, and gets you directly onto the first floor of the building. When you come in through the entrance, bear left. Ours is the second door on the left. When you find us, just walk right on in! We’ll be waiting for you!

Your Appointment

Your appointment with us will be quite different to a dental appointment! No bib, no suction, no noise, no dental mirrors, no poking around in your mouth: simply a conversation about the dental work that you are having done and an inspection of your smile.

Nik will take a look at the colour and characteristics of the enamel on your teeth, and will compare the colour with shade tabs. He may take some photos of your smile to help him recall the details. He’ll ask you about your expectations: how do you want your new dental work to look in terms of colour and shape. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions. The focus is on you, because the way your teeth look when you smile is probably very important to you. It’s certainly very important to Nik.

Nik will use the information he has gathered during the appointment to craft beautiful dental ceramics that meet (or maybe even surpass) your expectations and wishes.

The Process

Nik will use high-quality dental ceramics to craft your crown, implant or veneer. The process is delicate and all done by hand. The porcelain is often built up in layers, mimicking the natural structure of teeth, where translucent enamel sits on top of a more opaque layer of dentine. Tiny characterisations can be added to the ceramics to make every crown or veneer look just like a natural tooth.

Once the work has been completed (which may take a week or two depending on the size and complexity), it will be sent to your dentist for them to review before bonding the work in place.

Nik takes great pride in his work. Please feel free to drop him a line afterwards to let him know what you think.
